This guide will walk you through the basics of using the Trends Tracker so you can start exploring trends and getting value from the dashboard right away.
Step 1: Set your filters
At the top of the dashboard, you’ll find filters for location, time period, segment, and source (channel). These filters shape everything you see in the tool.
To get started, we recommend keeping things simple:
Set the time period to 12 months
Leave Segment and Source as “All”
This gives you a broad view of trends. As you become more familiar with the tool, you can refine these filters to focus on specific markets or data sources.
Step 2: Trends
Once your filters are set, you can begin exploring trends from two perspectives.
Start in the Micro-trends view to browse individual trends. Each trend includes key information such as growth, overall volume, a trend line chart, and a short description. Use this view to identify trends that are relevant to your business or area of interest.
You can also explore the Macro-trends view, which groups related trends into broader themes. This view helps you understand how individual trends connect to larger shifts and can be useful for identifying patterns, such as emerging or declining, or areas of opportunity.
Step 3: Spotlight trends
Once you’ve identified a few trends of interest, select 3–4 trends to focus on.
To add a trend to your spotlight, select the star icon on the top right corner of the trend card.
Your selected trends will appear at the top of the main dashboard, making it easy to monitor them over time.
Step 4: Compare trends
To take your analysis further, you can compare trends side by side.
Select two or more trends and click Compare to view how they perform over time.
You can switch between different visualizations to better understand how trends are evolving and how they relate to each other.
What to do next
As you continue using the tool, you can:
Adjust filters to refine your view
Update your spotlight as priorities change
