Using Filters and Customizing Your View

Filters allow you to tailor the Trends Tracker to your specific needs, helping you focus on the most relevant data for your market, category, or area of interest.

How filters work

Filters are applied globally across the dashboard. This means that any changes you make will automatically update all views, including your spotlight, micro-trends, macro-trends, and any comparisons you’re running.

Because of this, filters play a key role in shaping how you interpret trends.

Available filters

You can refine your view using the following filters:

  • Location
Focus on trends within specific geographic markets

  • Time period
Adjust the timeframe used to analyze trends, which affects growth calculations and trend charts

  • Segment
Narrow trends based on relevant audience or category groupings

  • Source (channel)
Control which data sources are included in your analysis

How filters impact your results

Changing your filters will affect:

  • Which trends appear

  • How growth is calculated

  • What patterns you see in charts

For example, a trend may appear strong in one location but not in another, or show different patterns depending on the time period selected.

Tips for getting started

If you’re new to the Trends Tracker, it’s best to begin with a broader view and refine from there.

  • Start with wider filters, then narrow your focus

  • Avoid selecting all sources at once, as this can make results harder to interpret

  • Keep filters consistent when comparing trends to ensure a fair comparison

As you become more familiar with the tool, you can adjust your filters to answer more specific questions.
