What is the Trends Tracker?

The Trends Tracker is an interactive dashboard that helps you track and explore emerging trends in food and beverage.

It brings together data from multiple sources to show how trends are evolving over time, making it easier to identify what’s gaining momentum, compare trends side by side, and focus on the ones most relevant to your business.

Rather than relying on static reports, the Trends Tracker is designed for ongoing use, so you can monitor changes regularly and stay up to date as new signals emerge.

What you can do with the Trends Tracker

The Trends Tracker is built to support both exploration and analysis. As you use the dashboard, you can:

  • Discover emerging trends by browsing a wide range of micro-trends and seeing how they are changing over time

  • Understand the bigger picture by exploring macro-trends (structural forces) and how individual trends fit within them

  • Compare trends side by side using visualizations like line charts and momentum matrices

  • Focus on what matters most by selecting a small set of trends to spotlight on your dashboard

  • Customize your view by applying filters for location, time period, segment, and data source

Together, these capabilities help you move from simply observing trends to actively evaluating and prioritizing them.

How the Trends Tracker is organized

The dashboard is structured to support different ways of exploring trends, depending on what you’re looking to do.

The primary screen (Spotlight) highlights a small set of selected micro-trends, giving you a quick, at-a-glance view of the trends you’re actively tracking.

From there, you can dive deeper into two main views:

  • The Micro-trends view, where you can browse all available trends and review key metrics like growth, volume, and recent activity

  • The Macro-trends view, which groups related trends into broader themes to help you understand larger shifts in the market

When you want to analyze trends more closely, Compare mode allows you to evaluate multiple trends together using visual tools.

When to use the Trends Tracker

The Trends Tracker is designed to support ongoing trend monitoring and decision-making. You can use it to:

  • Stay up to date on emerging trends

  • Track how trends are evolving over time

  • Identify potential opportunities for innovation or growth

  • Support internal discussions and strategic planning
