We're excited to announce a series of enhancements to the Recall feature in Upsiide- making it easier than ever to reuse responses from previous questions, reduce programming time, and streamline survey design.
Whether you’re referencing earlier selections, screening criteria, or building complex grids, the new Recall experience gives you more control and flexibility all while keeping things simple and intuitive.
What's New?
We’ve made big improvements to how Recall works across the platform, including:
Expanded compatibility: Recall now works within grid attributes, grid options, ranking questions, and screening questions.
Quick search: Instantly pull up Recall options with
@
and search by keyword- no more endless scrolling.
How Does It Work?
Here’s a quick rundown of the updates to Piping and masking available anywhere you create or edit a question.
Recall Screening Questions
Need to carry over answers from a screener, or pipe previous responses into your next qualifying question?
Type @ and scroll to the bottom of the Recall menu to find screening questions. Select the one you’d like to reference.
Recall into Grid Questions
Want to customize attributes or answer options in a grid based on earlier answers?
Type @ within a grid attribute or option
Pick a prior question. Recalled responses will appear as grid rows or attributes
Grid recalls display just like manual options in reports and exports.
Recall Across Idea Splits
Need to reference earlier questions- even across sections?
You can now Recall both within an Idea Split and across different sections, including screeners.
This makes it easier to reuse key responses throughout the survey without duplication.
Reporting on Recalled Responses
Recalled answers behave just like any other response in reporting:
View full response sets or filter to specific recalled items.
Recalled options appear in dashboards, exports, and data tables, no extra setup required.
Why Did We Make These Changes?
Save time by reusing responses
Build dynamic, personalized surveys
Enjoy a cleaner, more intuitive setup experience
Ready to try it? Just type @ in your next question to start recalling responses and discover how much faster (and smarter) survey programming can be.
