Weโ€™re excited to bring Video Upload to Upsiide, a feature that allows you to skip third-party hosting and upload clips directly into Upsiide. This makes it easier to test ads, product concepts, or any idea where showing video is more powerful than static images or text- all within the platform.

What You Can Expect

  • Upload Videos Easily
Add MP4 or MOV files up to 500MB and 5 minutes long directly into your study.

  • Customizable Playback Controls
Choose whether respondents must watch videos fully, lock the timeline, or allow free interaction.

  • Embed in Questions
In addition to exercises, insert videos into single-select, grid, rank, or open-ended questions, letting you test concepts in a more engaging way.

  • One at a Time
To avoid distractions, only one video plays at a time- others will automatically pause.

  • Editable Video Descriptions
You can update the video description upon upload or after it has been uploaded.

  • Visibility Settings
Adjust visibility settings for each video- private or public. Public will allow respondents to download the videos.

How It Works

  1. Upload a Video
Drag and drop your file (or select manually) into the study builder.

  2. Embed & Preview
Add descriptions or alt text for accessibility, and preview playback options like play, pause, mute, and fullscreen. You can also adjust visibility settings and toggle your video to public.

  3. Playback Rules in Surveys

    • Idea Screens: Respondents must watch the full video before swiping.

    • Commitment Screens: Videos can be replayed, but scrubbing is always disabled.

    • Replays: Allowed, but always start from the beginning.

Why It Matters

With video upload, you can:

  • Run ad tests to gauge emotional reactions and recall.

  • Test product concepts with a more realistic presentation.

  • Collect richer feedback through open-ended or ranked questions tied to video content.

This feature makes studies more dynamic, improves respondent engagement, and gives you deeper, more actionable insights.
