Heatmap exercises are a great way to get find out how your respondents react to specific parts of your stimuli - they give your respondents the opportunity to click on your image and leave a comment and creates a heat map of those clicks.

To add a Heatmap exercise:

  • Click on 'Add ' in the left pane while in 'Create' mode

  • Click or drag the 'Heatmap' Block from the 'Exercises' column

  • Place your block in the left pane in 'Create' mode

  • Add an image by selecting 'Add An Image'

  • A. You can choose to upload from your computer with 'Upload', from your Upsiide account with 'My Gallery', or stock photo from 'Images'

  • B. Select the image you would like to add

  • C. Select 'Choose File'

  • You can change the number of clicks allowed by each respondent, you can choose from:

    • Unlimited - As many as the respondent wants

    • 'Exactly' - The number entered is the EXACT number of comments before they can proceed

    • 'Up to' - The number entered is the HIGHEST amount they can

  • You can toggle whether you want to collect comments or not, if this is toggled off they won't be prompted to comment when they click

Heatmap can be added both to the body of the study and to the Idea Split.
