Adding a Video Interview

To add a Video Interview exercise:

  • Click 'Add +' in the left side menu

  • Select 'Video Interview' from the 'Exercises' menu

Once you've added the Video Interview, select 'Get started'

From here, simply type your prompt (What you want the goal of the interview to be). If you want some help with your prompt, you can always type in simple terms and use the 'Improve with AI' button to help clarify your prompt.

Video Interview Settings

  1. Test interview - Do a test interview with the settings you currently have

  2. Improve with AI - Write your prompt manually then use the 'Improve with AI' button to optimize your prompt for clarity

  3. Required - Toggle this to make the exercise required or optional. If you choose required, this will be a required exercise for 20% of your audience or 100 responses, whichever is fewer. e.g. if your audience is n=250 then you will have 50 required responses

  4. Number of AI questions - Ask up to 5 questions, or simply choose 'Auto' to let the AI decide the appropriate length - this can be up to 10 total questions

  5. Allowed Media Type - choose whether the response is video and audio, or whether they can choose to only respond with audio

  6. Additional questions - add your own question to the interview, this is very useful if you want a generally open interview but have a specific question you want every respondent to be asked

FAQ

  • How does the 20%/100 responses work?

    • If you choose required, this will be a required exercise for 20% of your audience or 100 responses, whichever is fewer. e.g. if your audience is n=250 then you will have 50 required responses, whereas if you have n=1000 you will get 100 required responses.

Essentially, with any base size over n=500, you will get 100 required responses, if more choose to take it then you will get more!

  • Is there any way to get more than 20% required responses?

    • There isn't a way to get more than 20%/100 required responses, the maximum was set to ensure that fielding is as fast and efficient as it has always been.

Though, the 20%/100 is for required responses, and there can still be more than that.

  • What sort of screening do you have in place to prevent inappropriate video responses?

    • We have screening to ensure the respondent is:

      • A real person, over 18 years who has a visible face and is dressed appropriately

      • Answering properly - we screen out respondents who are using inappropriate language, as well as nonsense answers or non-answers

  • How many follow-up questions do you recommend?

    • That is dependent on how deep you want to dive into your topic

  • Tips for formatting my prompt?

    • Use the 'Improve with AI' button! We've worked hard on the AI to make it rewrite your goal in a way that is best understood by the AI moderator.

    • Iterate on your prompt - write the prompt, test it and go back to tweak it if you need to refine it.

  • Can I guide the AI moderator towards or against certain lines of questioning?

    • You can include any context you want the AI moderator to know within the goal prompt. We recommend that you test this before launching your study to ensure the AI is interpreting your context correctly.

  • Should I add any questions to my screener that indicate we are capturing video?

    • No! We automatically add a screening question and notice to respondents before they enter the study letting them know that there is a video question. This makes sure that they have the ability to enable their camera and microphone.
